    My 91 year old parents purchased $2600.00 curtains for their home. They didn't pay for them initially because they didn't receive their purchase. They were charged another $25.00 for not paying the bill for something they did not receive, so they paid the full $2,625.00. Week after week they were told the curtains were soon to be installed.     I had a technician (called via the 800 number 1-800-424-2047) come out to diagnose a treadmill problem on January 30, 2014. The diagnosis was a motor controller board was bad and it needed a rear roller. I was informed by the technician that I had 60 days to decide if I wanted to have the treadmill repaired that the $96.00 would be deducted from the total cost of the repair.     Called Sears on Saturday due to recurring error code on washer and washer not draining. Was given an appointment for 1:00 the following Tuesday. Tuesday comes and around 3:00 haven't heard from them so I call and find out it's a 1:00-5:00 window. At 4:00 someone calls to tell me service tech will not arrive until after 5:00 PM. Okay.   • Sears Service Smart Agreement on Whirlpool refrigerator



    Called Sears to have our side-by-side refrigerator serviced in October 2013. They suggested we go with a "Service Smart" agreement which would limit our out-of-pocket costs if the fix weren't simple or took more than one service call.     We have had Sears service contracts on several appliance for years and their service keeps getting worse. On the most recent visit the technician told me he works for a group Sears outsources the work to. That might be ok except the same washer just failed again and the best they can do is send someone out in 2 1/2 weeks.     My Samsung dishwasher gave off an "OE" error and would no longer run. I purchased the item from Sears in July of 2012 for about $1,000 out the door.   • BE AWARE OF FRAUD !!!



    Sears Home Services person came to my house to sign a contract to install humidifier. He also took a credit card number to be charged after the service was completed. Two days later the same agent informed me that the company was in receivership and the contract will not be fulfilled. They still charged my credit card for the service.   • Sears Home Services Freezer Malfunction



    This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. After paying $600 to cover my freezer, fridge, and range, Sears won't come out for a week to repair my freezer. The control panel has gone out and they cannot say whether it will continue to keep the food frozen during that time. They will pay for part of the food if it stops working completely but the freezer would be ruined. They refuse to let me speak with a supervisor about possibly coming out at an earlier date.     Sears Charged us $13,000 with countertops to reface our small kitchen. thout confirming with us making it difficult to get the job started. The work appeared good and we signed off as satisfied. Within a short period of time two of the cabinet doors started to come off.     We always service our treadmill with Sears, however this time was the first time that the service was not covered by the extended warranty. The tech stayed in our house no more that 15 min and the only thing he did was to adjust the belt with an Allen wrench. He charged us $220.     My mother paid a lot of money to have the floor in her entire house done with ceramic tile and carpet. It has been a nightmare.     This ticket has been resolved or replied to by this company. Sears Home services installed a new unit at my home in Columbia SC on April 26, 2013. The inspector from South Carolina codes and inspections came out on 4/29 for the check and said that the breaker was too high for the system 50 Amp it needed to have a 20-30 amp.     My Kenmore Elite Range has been out for a month. Your repair team seems to have no clue how to find the problem. First visit result was wrong part identified. That wasted three weeks.     Please save yourself the hassle. I thought with the name Sears, they would be reliable and competent. They are the complete opposite. Our dryer wasn't drying the loads completely, so the first service guy came out and said there was a problem with the flame. So, 2 weeks later the parts were delivered and another service guy came out. I had a refrigerator repair yesterday. The technician was competent and all went well, AFAIK.
My complaint is about the cost. The labor charge was $200 to install a $20 part, and the total time from when he entered the house to when he left was 30 minutes. That's $400 an hour! Even if there were a one-hour minimum, that's $200/hour. TOO MUCH! I have 40 years of clinical experience as a therapist and Blue Cross reimburses me $88/hour.

Unacceptable customer service.
I purchased a service contract for my KitchenAid dishwasher and was told that a service technician would be at my home between 1 and 5. I called them back at 4 and was told someone would be there at 5. I called back at 5 and was told someone might be here about 7 because there were 3 people ahead of me but couldn't guarantee it. I asked to speak to a supervisor with no luck. The people I were dealing with sounded like they were all from the Philippines and was difficult to understand. I cancelled the contract the same day and will never use Sears again for anything. I will discourage anyone from using sears.

beware of sears. i had them come saturday which they were late and when the tech came he said without turning on my central ac that i had no freeon and it was goign to be 650 bucks. i told him to forget it. my oil company came today and had freeon in it and checked my whole system out and put in 1 1/2 tons of free on and total cost 250 . todays tech stated how can sears do a ac check without the system being on. the sears guy did a temp check without the system on. i will never use sears agaim. they were good years ago something has changed. they are ripping people off beware consumers
