    And we have the repair agreement. Waited two days for the appointment, the guy came out and "fixed" the issue. It worked for maybe 15 minutes. I spent the next 3 hours calling sears to have someone else come out and fix it and getting no calls back and nothing.   • Furnace repair extortion

    Our heating broke down a few days before Christmas, I was having trouble getting an engineer to come but Sears had an appointment. The Engineer came the next day, he identified the problem as the inducer motor and said the part was $1300 so it would be around $1500 with labor. He tried to get me to pay $1400 for an appointment 2 weeks later. I declined as it seemed high and was a long wait. When he left I googled the part - it was around $200.   • AVOID at all cost!!!!

    Wahing machine would not spin, called sears home service they came out and said it needed a new panel. Came out a week later. After he left washer had to be shut off striaght away due to burning rubber! came back out a week later and said needed 2 more parts and he NO-SHOWED for the appt he told me.     We had a patio door installed approximately four months ago. The installer s were extremely knowledgeable and did a very good job on the install. Also the installers after service was very good. Therein lies part of the problem. 1. The doors did not seal at the bottom, there was a half inch gap at the bottom where the doors meet lots of sunshine and air leakage.     I bought a split system heat pump / air handler from sears just under 3 years ago. I cost me over $8000.00!! In the last 5 weeks I have had them out 5 times.   • Bad service on treadmill

    We always service our treadmill with Sears, however this time was the first time that the service was not covered by the extended warranty. The tech stayed in our house no more that 15 min and the only thing he did was to adjust the belt with an Allen wrench. He charged us $220. I had a refrigerator repair yesterday. The technician was competent and all went well, AFAIK.
My complaint is about the cost. The labor charge was $200 to install a $20 part, and the total time from when he entered the house to when he left was 30 minutes. That's $400 an hour! Even if there were a one-hour minimum, that's $200/hour. TOO MUCH! I have 40 years of clinical experience as a therapist and Blue Cross reimburses me $88/hour.

Unacceptable customer service.
I purchased a service contract for my KitchenAid dishwasher and was told that a service technician would be at my home between 1 and 5. I called them back at 4 and was told someone would be there at 5. I called back at 5 and was told someone might be here about 7 because there were 3 people ahead of me but couldn't guarantee it. I asked to speak to a supervisor with no luck. The people I were dealing with sounded like they were all from the Philippines and was difficult to understand. I cancelled the contract the same day and will never use Sears again for anything. I will discourage anyone from using sears.

beware of sears. i had them come saturday which they were late and when the tech came he said without turning on my central ac that i had no freeon and it was goign to be 650 bucks. i told him to forget it. my oil company came today and had freeon in it and checked my whole system out and put in 1 1/2 tons of free on and total cost 250 . todays tech stated how can sears do a ac check without the system being on. the sears guy did a temp check without the system on. i will never use sears agaim. they were good years ago something has changed. they are ripping people off beware consumers
